It starts on the inside of me. I have to be mindful of what I allow into my body. My body is a temple of God’s spirit. The things I choose to enter inside me will flow out of me. The things I watch influence what I think. The music I listen to impacts how I feel. The people I hang around effect my emotions. I have to be mindful of what I am putting in my body both physically and emotionally. We choose what we allow in. The very things we allow in us determines what flows out of us.
Since, I now know how important it is to watch what I let inside. I have decided to be intentional about my health. It is a hard pill for me to swallow because I love to eat junk food. JUNK FOOD TASTE GREAT! YOU CAN FIGHT ME IF YOU WANT. But, junk food is not good for you. It is detrimental to your health. If you are young like me. You can eat all the junk in the world and may not feel or see anything. Just because you do not see it now does not mean it is not effecting you. It just means its not visible at the moment. As you get older. As your metabolism will slow down. Your health will change and if you were not feeding your body good things now. Your body is going to have to work 10 x’s more to get back where it needs to be when you are older. Why wait? I want to be healthy now. Before any issues. Before there is a problem. I want to be healthy now and it starts first from within.
My mind had to be made up. I knew that if I really want to be healthy. I have to retrain my mind to be healthy. It starts with filling your mind with healthy things. The word of God helped me put my mind in the right perspective. As I encourage my mind daily in the Lord. I guard my thinking from the negative thoughts of the enemy. If you guard your brain, nothing negative can reach your heart. Most negative feelings of the heart are birthed in the understanding. If you allow yourself to think something it will become a feeling and as a human you are going to react off of your feelings. It should not be this way but it is so. As I retrain my mind. I know that I can be healthy.
I then had to change what I put in my body. DO YOU KNOW HOW EXPENSIVE IT IS TO BE HEALTHY? TOO EXPENSIVE! It is worth it though. I start out with morning smoothies. It makes a difference, sis. You can use pinterest as a recipe guide. A smoothie in the morning can hold me over til it is lunch time. For lunch I get me a avocado or a tomato. Cut it up. Add it to some cream cheese toast (I use tortilla shells) with 2 boiled eggs. It taste good and holds me til snack time. For snack I either eat a fruit or a smoothie bowl. This hold me over for a little bit and I then make a nice meal of my choice for dinner. I try to add veggies to what ever I eat. I am also, trying apple cider vinegar a day to get rid of excess fat. This is a journey and I am finally ready for the ride.
I recently started this health journey and so far I look and feel better than before. My mind is clearer. I have more energy to play with my little boy. My skin and hair is improving.
